SKETCH ADVENTURE SATURDAY Volume 6

Hey kids! It's been a crazy hectic week, so just haven't gotten around to posting until today!

This week's sketch..another collaboration between me and Lisa.

And for your viewing pleasure:

Ellie & Kitty

My niece has developed a recent attachment to Hello Kitty. These pictures were taken last fall after she and her mom happened upon this Jack-O-Lantern Kitty at a store. She loved it up to bits! That's my beautiful mom (her Grammy) giving her a cuddle in the picture.

I started out misting my background with Mister Huey's Pumpkin Spice and Heirloom Blue. I edged all the paper pieces, including the background with the new Hero Arts Shadow Dye Ink in Butter Bar. I'm thrilled to say I recently won a prize pack from Two Peas in a Bucket during their Winter CHA activities and this was one of my prizes. I've used it to death! I love it's subtle richness (is that an oxymoron???) In any event, it's made me curious to try out some of their other inks.

I'm typically not a "match my photos to the paper" kind of scrapper, but I did go with this a bit, simply because Ellie and my mom happened to be wearing such nice matching shades of teal. :)

Supplies: patterned paper - Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye, Studio Calico, Pebbles; stickers - Jenni Bowlin, Fancy Pants Designs, Dear Lizzy (American Crafts); flowers - American Crafts, October Afternoon; ink - Hero Arts; spray mist - Studio Calico; tin pin - October Afternoon; felt flower - Jillibean Soup; text flags - My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon

I have several things planned for this week and next week's Sketch Adventure Saturday will be a day late on Sunday, April 1. And that's no April Fool's Joke either, folks!

Thanks for reading and commenting! The positive feedback I have received thus far makes my day each and everyday! Happy Weekend!

SKETCH ADVENTURE SATURDAY Volume 5!

Hey kiddies! I'm back this gorgeous St. Patrick's Day Saturday with another Sketch Adventure Saturday!

My sketch today (as always digitized for us by the lovely Lisa Carroll) incorporates four mini photos and plenty of room for embellishments.

Here's Lisa's take on the sketch featuring the fabulously fiesty Pippa and Sasha (or Pasha for short):

Puppy Love

My take:

Sweet Little Explorer

I had fun layer all these papers and elements. These are a few of the pictures I took of my niece sitting like a big girl at a table in my grandparents' backyard. She was discovering dried leaves and other flora and fauna.

Hey there everyone...I've been working on trying to get some of our London and Ireland pictures from last summer scrapped, so here's another London layout!

Pre Flight Breakfast

I tried my hand at confetti for this layout and am pretty pleased with the effect. I used a variety of manufacturers' products here, but was able to use more of OA's awesome Boarding Pass line.

SKETCH ADVENTURE SATURDAY - Volume 4

Hey all...back with another sketch today that I created with my very own brain and that Lisa drew digitally with her very own amazingly magical techy skills.

My take on the sketch:

We Have Arrived

These pictures are just some little snippets from our trip to Walt Disney World last March (I can't believe it's already been a year!). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this colorful sunburst paper from Kesi'Art. 'Tis amazing! I wish I had about 500 more pieces of it. The gray b-side that I used for one of the flags is also very very nice.

Once I had the banners cut and in place, I did a couple of rows of machine stitching over them and over the squiggly sticker on the right hand side, because it was having a hard time staying in place!

Supplies: patterned paper - Kesi'Art, October Afternoon ; flowers - American Crafts; tin pins - October Afternoon; squiggle sticker - Pebbles; letter stickers - October Afternoon, Pebbles; mistable banner - Pink Paislee; spray mist - Studio Calico

Studio Calico Sunday Sketch

I decided to play along with the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch last week and here's what I came up with.

35 Years Later...My Hat On Her Head

So Parrish found an old baby hat that was first mine, then hers, and now Ellie's. Ellie tried it on and it was too cute to not snap a photo. I did a sepia tint on the photo before printing it out, which was a first for me. I'm generally a pretty strict full color scrapbooker.

The twine I used on the buttons was actually from the metal rim tags from Martha Stewart's Home Office collection. I liked it! It was thinner than regular twine and worked well, so snip snip and on my buttons you go!

Supplies: patterned paper - Lily Bee Designs, Pebbles, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, Crate Paper; brads - American Crafts; buttons - My Mind's Eye; letter stickers - Jillibean Soup, October Afternoon, Pebbles; Dec sticker - Jenni Bowlin; chipboard - Dear Lizzy for American Crafts; spray ink - Mister Huey's; twine - Martha Stewart

Thanks for looking!

SKETCH ADVENTURE SATURDAY...on Sunday...

Hey all...I've been a bit sicky, so got behind on this week's SAS post. Lisa's a genius, so as usual, was able to draw it up for me in no time!

So here it is!

And here's my take on it:

Gazing

I used a lot of the new This and That Graceful collection kit from Echo Park. I super love this stuff! I started out by using several shades of Mister Huey's and some OA sprinklers on the background paper. I also threw a vintage sales receipt from one of my past Studio Calico kits in there. And you know I can't do anything without October Afternoon making an appearance, so a little tin pin found it's way onto the page as well. hehe I inked all the edges of the paper with some Jenni Bowlin dye ink to make them pop out a bit. And several of the embellishments were make using one of the Echo Park papers and the fiskars large seal punch. Really had fun making this one!

Supplies: patterned paper, stickers - Echo Park; tin pin - October Afternoon; flowers - American Crafts; ink - Jenni Bowlin Chili Powder; other - ribbon, vintage sales receipt.

Check back next weekend (hopefully Saturday this time!) for another sketch. Meanwhile, I have a couple of other posts coming up this week. Thanks for reading!
