Happy NSD!

Hi all...It has been months since I've posted anything new.  Life has simply gotten in the way!  I've been scrapbooking quite a bit lately, but I've also started knitting again.  I'll be posting those projects too.  Right now I'm on a scarf knitting kick.  I really want to learn how to crochet, but beyond making my first chain, I can't get it figured out!  If you have any good crocheting links, please feel free to share!

Meanwhile, here's my first posted layout in some time!

Ka-Ching

I don't do many two pages layouts anymore and in fact, now find them very intimidating despite the fact that I used to be pretty much exclusively a two-page scrapbooker.

I loved these photos of my niece, The Musher, that I took of her playing with her Dora the Explorer cash register last spring.  (BTW, you'll be seeing that Minnie Mouse shirt in a lot of my layouts.  I bought it for her in Dublin in 2012 and she got quite a bit of mileage from it - including when we went to WDW last summer).

I'm super in love with American Crafts #Summer line and created this layout using mostly products from that line.  It's definitely in my top 5 favorite lines EVER!

Supplies:  patterned paper - American Crafts; die cuts - American Crafts, Crate Paper, Elle's Studio, Studio Calico; chipboard heart - October Afternoon; letter stickers - American Crafts;  flair - American Crafts; button - Jillibean Soup; brad - Echo Park; stars - Studio Calico; flag - Basic Grey

Lots of Embellisments

I remember the olden days (okay, like a couple of years ago), when I was always saying to myself, "gee, I really don't have many embellishments" and finding things to stick on a page was always quite a stretch.  Lately, I am finding the opposite is true.  I'm drowning in embellishments and can never decide where to stop adding them on, because I want them all on EVERY DARN PAGE!

Driving In My Car

Last spring, my mom, sister, and I took my niece to the Mayborn Museum at Baylor University in Waco.  This is such a cool place!  So many hands-on, interactive things for the little ones, as well as a collection of old buildings outside.  I think this little day trip started the trend of me taking 500,000 pictures of Ellie driving various play vehicles.  I find I'm scrapping a lot of similar pictures lately.  lol

Supplies: patterned paper - Studio Calico, Simple Stories; flags - Basic Grey; die cuts - Elle's Studio, Chic Tags; tag - American Crafts; buttons & bag - Fancy Pants; arrow paper clip - Freckled Fawn; cork arrows - Studio Calico; ticket - Jenni Bowlin; letter stickers - October Afternoon; journaling card - Pebbles; other - star sequins (from a Studio Calico kit) & polka dot brad (either Echo Park or My Mind's Eye)

Layers and Layers

I'm obsessed with layering right now.  Thanks, Jen Jockish for being a GIANT inspiration in this realm.  My pages are getting fat and are going to make album storage even more of a nightmare than it already is!

That said, today's layout is probably my very favorite of all time.

Whack a Mole

I started out the the chevron mask from Studio Calico for a very subtle effect behind my paper layers.

These star wood veneer are to DIE for.  I want to use them on everything now!

I was happy to pull out a couple of my stamp sets for this layout.  I always forget they are there!!  And how cute are those arrow paperclips??

Washi is pretty much a staple of mine on every layout.

I've had some doilies lying around and have been using them on a bunch of layouts lately.

A Baby and a Pair of Glasses

Hi all!  I'm back with another layout.  This one featuring my precious niece, Ellie.  :)

Glasses

Backstory:  My sister (Ellie's mom) wears glasses.  Somehow, Elle got a hold of them and was attempting to put them on.  She couldn't quite get it figured out.

Okay, so there's all kinds of stuff going on in this layout.  I created this little Chevron type design using an alternating mixture of washis and strips of patterned paper.  I did some machine stitching right through the center.

Meanwhile, I found these little red epoxy stickers I'd had for years and years, so started out using them all over the page for a kind of confetti effect. Weeeelllllll....it looked like I had blood spatters all over the page, so that just wouldn't do! I went back and covered them up (at least partially) with some legitimate confetti. Much better!

Supplies:  patterned paper - Studio Calico, Crate Paper, Bella Boulevard, Lily Bee Designs; stickers - Crate Paper; letter stickers - American Crafts; buttons - Basic Grey; twine - Divine Twine; flag - Elle's Studio; punch - Jenni Bowlin (Fiskars); washi tape - Bazzill, Cosmo Cricket, Amy Tangerine (American Crafts); other - epoxy stickers, confetti
