Hey all! I finally have my first 3 days completed and ready to share. I have to admit, it's taken me awhile to get into much of a Christmasy spirit this year. Last year, my family had a lot more Christmas-related activities planned, so it seemed like I was documenting something very specific each day for at least the first couple of weeks. This year, it's just been regular everyday life. Everyday life that is decorated for Christmas, anyway.
But with a class field trip to the Nutcracker on Friday and taking Ellie to see Santa on Saturday, things have definitely gotten more Christmas-like!
Supplies: album, page protectors, chipboard inserts - Studio Calico; patterned paper, stickers - Basic Grey, Crate Paper, Echo Park, October Afternoon, Studio Calico; letter stickers - American Crafts, Basic Grey, October Afternoon; vellum accents - Crate Paper; pockets & envelopes - Basic Grey; other - coaster, ribbon, twine, brads

And So It Begins!
We Americans are all sufficiently stuffed with turkey and dressing and December is just around the corner. I have finally, FINALLY finished my December Daily from 2011 and have my 2012 book all ready to go.
So here it is...what you've all been waiting almost a year for me to complete...my 2011 December Daily.
***I must note here that I am completely and thoroughly tired of all the papers and elements I used in this book and while it is a treasure for the ages, I won't be picking it up to flip through again any time soon. Maybe in 2013!

December Daily 2011
My base pages were made using the Dear Mr. Claus line from Cosmo Cricket. Primarily. I also have a few pages of other papers, including some vintage Daisy D's that I'd been hoarding for years! There are a variety of other papers thrown into the mix for interesting layers, including a few scraps I had leftover from making my 2012 base pages (I still had to finish up days 23-25 of 2011!) I tabbed each date, something I will not be doing this year. I used a few paper lunch bags, about a billion stickers and chipboard pieces, a few washi tapes, and I don't even know what else! A lot of what is in this album probably would be very hard to trackdown today, though there are a few brand spankin' new elements like some of the chipboard pieces I used from this year's Crate Paper - Sleigh Ride line.
If you have any questions about anyting I used in the album, please do not hesitate to ask me by either leaving me a comment in the comment section or emailing me. My email can be found at the top of the page. I'd be more than happy to help you out to the best of my ability!
Thank you all so much for stopping by! Tomorrow I'll be back again with the cover, title page, day one set up, and remaining base pages of my 2012 album! Can't wait!

Creative Scrappers Sketch Challenge
Hey everybody! I recently decided to try doing some challenges from other blogs, so I'm here today to share one I created for Creative Scrappers for their Sketch #220.

I LOVE the Basic Grey ransom note style letters that came with this collection. Super cute.
I got my banner pieces to have a more 3D look by not adhering the entire piece, but just the straight edge end of each one. It started out as an accident, but I like how it turned out.
I hand cut the circles and the banners out and used some chalk ink on the edges to help them stand out.

Thanksgiving and Things
Hey everyone! I feel like I'm in a rut. I am having some serious scrapper's block. I guess I'm fortunate, in a sense, because I was able to churn some stuff out, but you know that feeling of just not being happy or at all impressed with anything you've done? To top that off, I'm feeling so overwhelmed (and have that antsy excited feeling) with all these projects I want to either start or finish. I have tons of photos that need to be organized both hard copies and files on my computer. I am feeling really stuck and not sure where to go with finishing my December Daily - I've made me little notes for each day, just need to put them together with the photos and call it a day. I am also embarking on a BIG weight loss journey and want to create something that I can add to and build as it goes along, but have no idea where to start. I still have some pages from my first trip to Ireland that need to be finished up and tons of pictures from all the trips Lisa and I have taken together and visits we have made back and forth. I could go on and I do realize this is a pretty common scrappers dilemma, but it helps to clear my head a bit! I'm hoping the feeling will pass and I'll continue to create in the meantime.
I've actually had some time to do a little bit of scrapbooking this weekend - mostly tying up a few loose ends here and there. I'm still working on getting my December Daily finished as I mentioned and will post the remainder of that all together once it's completed. I've been playing a lot with the January Studio Calico kit and mixing it together with some of their past kits as well. I got a bunch of pictures from Thanksgiving and Christmas 2010 scrapped as well as a couple of pictures of my trip to London with Lisa last summer and other miscellany.
Here are a few of those completed pages:
Ellie & Unca

I had a really hard time with this one. I just couldn't decide how to fill up the space and even now I'm not sure if I entirely love how it turned out. Sure do love that cute baby in these pictures though! And my awesome Dad!

Supplies: patterned paper - Lily Bee Designs, October Afternoon; buttons & brads - Basic Grey, October Afternoon; tag - Amy Tangerine, stickers - October Afternoon, American Crafts, Crate Paper, Lily Bee Designs; tape - Hambly; twine - My Minds Eye; doily flower - Jenni Bowlin
That's it for me now. I'll be back later this week with some Christmas layouts I've finished.
