UNHalloween Pumpkins

I have a Halloweenish (but actually, not Halloween related at all) layout to share with you today....

Mickey's Punkin' Patch

I had these cute photos of the big fake Mickey Mouse pumpkins in his garden at his house in Toontwon from a few years ago.  I totally had to break out some October Afternoon Witch Hazel for this one.  I threw in a few other papers...some Studio G (which I bought at Wal-Mart over a year ago for 97 cents), some Jillibean Soup, a little Studio Calico, My Mind's Eye, and some Fancy Pants.

I used a Studio Calico paper (from the Classic Calico Volume 2 Collection) as my background and threw some mist up on that baby: Mister Huey's Pumpkin Spice, I believe.

This little pumpkin sticker from OA's Witch Hazel was perfect for the layout.  The letter stickers and the lable behind the pumpkin come from this collection, as well.

More Witch Hazel with the vintagey pumpkin card and the flags.  The button is from My Mind's Eye and came in my Studio Calico kit last month.

A few more My Mind's Eye embellies and some twine for a rustic feel.  These are layered over some Witch Hazel washi tape.

Supplies:  patterned paper - October Afternoon, Studio Calico, Jillibean Soup, Fancy Pants, My Mind's Eye; chipboard - My Mind's Eye; flags, letter stickers, stickers, and card - October Afternoon; spray ink - Mister Huey's (Studio Calico); stamp ink - Jenni Bowlin (Ranger) in Fountain Pen; other - twine

Layers and Layers

I'm obsessed with layering right now.  Thanks, Jen Jockish for being a GIANT inspiration in this realm.  My pages are getting fat and are going to make album storage even more of a nightmare than it already is!

That said, today's layout is probably my very favorite of all time.

Whack a Mole

I started out the the chevron mask from Studio Calico for a very subtle effect behind my paper layers.

These star wood veneer are to DIE for.  I want to use them on everything now!

I was happy to pull out a couple of my stamp sets for this layout.  I always forget they are there!!  And how cute are those arrow paperclips??

Washi is pretty much a staple of mine on every layout.

I've had some doilies lying around and have been using them on a bunch of layouts lately.

Supplies:  patterned paper - Studio Calico, October Afternoon, Echo Park; letter stickers - Pebbles, October Afternoon; wood veneer - Studio Calico; flair - Ormolu; stamps- My Mind's Eye, Studio Calico; notebook tag - Studio Calico; die cuts - American Crafts, Elle's Studio; tape -  Bazzill, Freckled Fawn; buttons - My Mind's Eye; brad - October Afternoon; mask & spray ink - Studio Calico; ink - Ranger (Jenni Bowlin & Tim Holtz) other - doily, twine, pink tag

Sketch Adventure Saturday

Okay so I'm trying to branch out there in my blogdom. So, I present to you "SKETCH ADVENTURE SATURDAY"! If I'm stepping on any toes by using this name, please let me know because it's entirely unintentional.

So, the idea here is to use the following sketch (my creation, but digitally drawn by my AMAZING girlfriend, Lisa Carroll!) as inspiration and design a layout, card, piece of wall art, or whatever! Send an attachment of your creation to me (my email addy is in the upper right hand corner by that silly little picture of me). I will then pick a handful of projects I think best used the sketch (though I know it's going to be hard, because they'll all be amazing) and post them the following Saturday on my blog (with the designers' blog links), along with a new sketch. So Saturdays will be Sketch Adventure Saturdays from here on out to the best of my ability! All layouts must be received by 11:59 PM (CST) Friday, February 24

And in celebration of this new announcement, I'm having a giveaway! Leave a comment by 11:59 (CST) NEXT Friday, February 24 to enter. I will pick a winner at random. I have some great kraft mini envelopes and letter stickers from Pebbles to give out:

And now for our first sketch!

And here's my take on this sketch:
